Receiver William Lynch’s Latest Status Report on the City of Harrisburg
On June 25th, the City of Harrisburg’s Receiver filed his latest Status Report with Commonwealth Court. Access it here.
Key notes:
- Although the City ended May with a positive cash flow of $5.6M, the City is projected to begin a deficit in its general fund by the end of the summer. With a General Obligation (GO) bond payment due in September, it is unclear if the City will be able to make that one. Under Receiver David Unkovic’s direction, the City did not pay its March GO bond payment.
- If the City does make its September GO bond payment, then the year will end with a deficit of $12.7 million.
- The Harrisburg Parking Authority (HPA) has not sent in its parking taxes & won’t do so until the City is able to make its contributions to the Coordinated Parking Fund. This has resulted in lower than expected tax revenue to the City.
- The lease of the Parking system is down to 9 Selected Interested Parties.
