Monday, January 17th–Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Volunteer! 

    • Broad Street Market (1233 N 3rd Street, HBG) from 9:00am to 5:00pm help clean, paint, & repair the nation’s oldest continuously operating market.

    • Clean up Day at The Program (1515 Derry Street, HBG) from 8:00am to Noon join  Harrisburg Young Professionals, Harrisburg University, and The Program revitalize The Program building. 

      The Program serves and supports individuals involved with the criminal justice system, primarily women and children, to prevent recidivism and promote productive crime-free lives. The Program offers many resources to individuals including residential programming, transportation assistance, budgeting, job placement assistance, GED classes, life skills training, HIV/AID CRCS, computer training, case management, counseling and pre-release services.

    • Putting Together Hygiene Bags at Camp Curtin School (2900 N 6th Street, HBG) starting at 9:00am. 

      The bags will benefit needy and homeless families in the Harrisburg area.

    • Harrisburg Urban Agriculture Initiative at Reservoir Park (19th & Whitehall Streets, HBG) starting at 11:00am. Cleaning, hauling, preparation work at proposed urban garden site (one acre including greenhouse).
    • Feeding Harrisburg’s Homeless at 2nd & Market Streets, HBG starting at 5:30pm. Join Yvonne Hollins (717) 234-3268. Food preparation will begin at NOON at 1227 Berryhill Street, HBG.
